Condominium Facelift …
We touched everything in this mid-80s luxury condo! The space had a dated appearance, and although we didn’t move any walls we did gut the interior, and completely remodeled 3 baths, the kitchen, and the master bedroom. A designer was involved with this particular project, however, Norm’s Woodworks assisted with the kitchen design.
Following are the changes we made taking a dated living space and giving it a fresh, modern look. Note that on the slides showing 3 collaged images, the photos on the left are the before shots:
- For the kitchen, we installed Neolith counters, and used Carrera Marble on all of the vanity counters. Carrera Marble was also used extensively throughout the master bathroom.
- The cabinetry was given a conversion varnish finish.
- We changed one bedroom into an office, and changed the closet into an alcove with a lower cabinet and floating shelves above it. There are “floating” shelves with LED strip lighting mortised into the shelving.
- The wood flooring is Carlisle Flooring. The master bath floor is Carrera Marble with a Nuheat electric heat mat bellow.
- An interesting detail to note is that the interiors of the once green metal window frames were repainted by spraying on an automotive paint!
- The stair railings are metal with a powder coated finish.
- The tall walls in the entry were straightened.
- We removed wall texture and made it smooth.
- We remodeled 3 baths, the kitchen, and the master bedroom.
- All lighting was redone, with recessed lights added.
- We did extensive tile-work in the kitchen and bathrooms.
- We installed new wood floors.
- The washer and dryer room can be hidden by a decorative shade when not in use. In this area we also installed a countertop and cabinets above the appliances. The upper cabinets were built out from the back wall to make them easier for the clients to reach.
- The fireplace was redone.
